How to add programs to start up folder in Windows 10

On Windows 10, the Startup folder is where you can place shortcuts to programs that you want to run automatically when you log in.

There are two Startup folders:

🔹 1. Per-User Startup Folder

Runs programs only for the current user.

Path:

C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

You can quickly access it by pressing:

Windows + R

and typing:

shell:startup

Then press Enter.

🔹 2. All Users Startup Folder

Runs programs for all users on the computer.

Path:

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

You can access it with:

Windows + R

and type:

shell:common startup

Then press Enter.

🛠 How to Use It:

• Place shortcuts (not the actual program) into the Startup folder.
• To create a shortcut: Right-click → Send to > Desktop (create shortcut), then move it into the folder.
