Photo of Supernova 2026kid in NGC 5907 from Lichfield Radio Observatory 14/5/2026

Supernova 2026kid is a Type II supernova that was discovered in the galaxy NGC 5907 on April 22, 2026. It is located in the constellation Draco and has a redshift of z=0.0017.

These photos were taken using a Seestar S50 smart telescope.

Final photo after 45 mins (supernova is bright spot in galaxy between the two purple lines):

However, the supernova was visible after only two minutes:
