Description on BROADCASTbargains website:

TV1 Minicaster Satellite Dish Pointer

TV1 Minicaster Satellite Dish Pointer

A rare satellite dish pointing system, once part of a KA-SAT outside broadcast uplink van, is being offered for auction. The TV1 Minicaster unit was originally used with the Tooway KA-SAT broadband service but is compatible with other mobile satellite operations.

The equipment includes an azimuth and elevation controller with variable speed settings, operated via a wired remote control. Although designed for KA-SAT, its adaptable mounting system makes it suitable for uses such as amateur radio QO100 setups or multi-satellite receiving configurations. The control unit, which is mains-powered, converts voltage for the motorised pointer system and is fully waterproof, although typically kept indoors during use.

The listing is for the motorised pointer only and does not include a dish or the original Tooway uplink equipment, which will be auctioned separately. Due to the size of the item, the seller is offering it for collection only and is available for queries regarding compatibility or setup.

TV1 Minicaster Mobile Satellite Dish Pointer

TV1 Minicaster Mobile Satellite Dish Pointer

Ideal for Satellite Broadband, QO100 Amateur operations, Satellite Uplinks or simply picking up different satellites on your TV!

Price: £500.

Removed from a KA Sat outside broadcast uplink van, this rare but well-engineered dish pointer system was designed for the Tooway KA-SAT broadband system but can equally be used with other satellite dishes where flexibility of movement is needed – for example a mobile receive/transmit setup or where one receiver needs to access multiple satellites. This could be the perfect accessory for an amateur radio QO100 mobile setup.

All fixings are standard size bolts and nuts so easily adapted for other dishes.

Azimuth and Elevation are controlled using the wired remote control which has variable speed options to dial in the dish pointing accuracy needed for alignment.

Control box runs on 240v AC Mains and steps down to lover voltages as used by the dish pointer motors. This unit is fully waterproof but was kept inside on all the vans the system was installed on.

This auction doesn’t include any of the TooWay supplied uplink kit, that will appear as a future auction. Therefore there is no dish or tria (uplink LNB) included in this auction despite being pictured.

Any questions please ask. Collection only due to size.
