New Grafana dashboard for my 2 Cosmic Watch Muon Detectors 28/6/2025
(This is separate from my PicoMuon Detector).
This new domain URL below provides access to data dashboard from the 2 older detectors (click on link):

Please feel free to give any feedback.
The dashboard was made using Miguel RĂos Martin’s instructions on his website – it required a lot of effort to working on my machine as I don’t know Linux very well and there were all sorts of permissions and port permissions and other things I don’t understand which would not now be working unless my son had come home from university and helped me do it! So sadly, I can’t put a set of instructions on here or my website as I seriously doubt i could replicate the process if my computer crashed and lost everything! I will look up Miguel’s URL and post it later.
My computer is a miniPC i5 8GB RAM 256GB SSD which refused to accept any form of Linux (and I tried many!!) except Ununtu – so it is now loaded with Ubuntu. First problem was that Ubuntu latest editions insist on lots of the dependencies being loaded in a sandbox……so in eventually worked out how to do that…and everything went downhill from there onwards..!
Nevertheless, eventually we got it working somehow. I also found that Grafana which creates the dashboard allows you to produce a public view-only version of the dashboard – so I did that. My son comes in again at this point and does port forwarding or whatever he did on our home network and set up subdomain of cosmicwatch.astronomy.me.uk and there you are! Several months of stress led to something positive.
To be honest, I do not understand the Python logic in Miguel’s scripts, so I have had difficulty trying to change them but this is something I keep exploring. I just don’t know enough about Python – entirely my fault not his. In his own dashboard, the script displays a few other devices too.
The database is postgres managed through pgadmin4.
Everything is hosted on the above Intel i5 miniPC in my home network – not a Raspberry PI in sight. My one Raspberry PI is attached to my PicoMuon detector.
