To access the single-use boot menu on an HP ProDesk 600 Mini with an Intel i7-6700

To access the single-use boot menu on an HP ProDesk 600 Mini with an Intel i7-6700, follow these steps:

🔧 Steps to Enter Boot Menu for USB Boot:

  1. Turn off the PC completely.
  2. Insert your USB drive into a USB port.
  3. Turn on the PC.
  4. Immediately press F9 repeatedly (once per second) as soon as you power it on.
  5. This opens the Boot Menu (a one-time boot device selection menu).
  6. Use the arrow keys to select your USB drive and press Enter.

⚠️ Notes:

  • If F9 doesn’t work (rare on HP), try Esc to enter the Startup Menu, then choose F9 from there.
  • Make sure the USB drive is properly formatted (FAT32 or NTFS) and bootable (e.g., created with Rufus, balenaEtcher, or UNetbootin).
  • On some units, Fast Boot or Secure Boot might prevent USB boot. If USB doesn’t appear:
    • Press F10 at startup to enter BIOS Setup.
    • Navigate to Secure Boot Configuration and:
      • Disable Secure Boot
      • Enable Legacy Support (if your USB isn’t UEFI-compatible)
