This is built around an 140cm ex-communications radio dish which used to adorn the side of an university physics department. It is paired with a Discovery Hydrogen Line feed and a 3D-printed base for that Discovery feed. The Discovery feed has its own inbuilt hydrogen line low noise amplifier and filter. The coaxial cable (which case with the feed and looks like LMR-240 but I don’t know for sure) feeds into a RTL-SDR v3 software-defined radio initially.
The Discovery feed is set at 55cm height from the centre of the dish, the same height as the LNB of the communications dish had been set when it was on the physics building before I owned it.
I have painted the surface of the dish with Hammerite metal-protective paint.
