Before we all watched England successfully get through to the semi-finals of the FIFA world cup, this change in detection rate was seen on my PicoMuon detector.
Other observers on BAA muon mailing list did not see this ==> the suggestion is that this has occurred due to high local temperatures on the day concerned leading to over-heating of the PicoMuon device.
